1.    Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras)
IIT Madras is one of the best IITs in India. In the year 2021 IIT Madras ranks first position in all engineering colleges. The college was founded in 1962. IIT Madras institute’s land area is 2.5 square kilometers. The institute has 600 teachers and 10000 students. The institute is a public technical and research university located in Chennai formerly known as Madras. Indian Institute of Technology Madras is placed on 1st rank with a total score of 90.19. The campus is located 10 km from Chennai Airport. In IIT Madras there are many departments like Electrical, Civil, Chemical, Aerospace, and Computer Science and Engineering.
 
 
2.    Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi)
IIT Delhi is one of the oldest Indian Institutes of Technology in India. In the year 2021 IIT Delhi ranks second position in all engineering colleges. It is a public technical and research university located in Hauz Khas in south Delhi, India. The whole campus area is 320 acres. IIT Delhi was established in 1961. Indian Institute of Technology Delhi is placed on 2nd rank with a total score of 88.96. The IIT Delhi campus is also close to some of the colleges are JNU, AIIMS, etc. IIT Delhi offers various B.Tech and M.Tech programs. The admission to these courses is done into JEE Advanced. 3.    Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay)
IIT Bombay was established in 1958. In the year 2021 IIT Bombay ranks third position in all engineering colleges. The institute has almost 584 buildings with a total area of 2.2 square kilometers. IIT Bombay is known for its 4- year and 5-year program. The candidates need to score well in JEE Advanced and Gate exam to get into IIT Bombay. Indian Institute of Technology Bombay is placed on 3rd rank with a total score of 85.16. IIT Bombay was the second Indian Institute of Technology to be established in India. IIT Bombay has a total of 15 departments, 20-multi disciplinary centers, etc. IIT Bombay has programs that are Chemical, Electrical, Aerospace, Mechanical engineering, etc.
 
4.    Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur)
IIT Kanpur college was established in 1959. The campus has a total area of 1000 acres. In the year 2021 IIT Kanpur ranks the fourth position in all engineering colleges. IIT Kanpur was the first institute to offer Computer Science Education. IIT Kanpur offers 4-year B.Tech programs in Chemical engineering, Bio-engineering, Electrical engineering, and many more. Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur is placed on 4th rank with a total score of 83.22. To take admission in these courses the candidates must score well in JEE Advanced exam. IIT Kanpur was ranked 65th position in QS Asia ranking 2020. And 25th position among BRICS nations in 2019. IIT Kanpur has one of the advanced computing service centers in India.
 
5.    Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur)
IIT Kharagpur was established in 1951. This is the first of the Indian Institute of Technology that was established in India. The total area of IIT Kharagpur is 8.7 square kilometers. IIT Kharagpur is located 120 km west of Kolkata. The IIT Kharagpur campus is located five kilometers away from Kharagpur Railway Station in West Midnapore District. Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur is placed on 5th rank with a total score of 82.03. IIT Kharagpur has 19 academic departments include eight multi-disciplinary. IIT Kharagpur’s first library was located in a small room which is known as Shaheed Bhawan. Now the main library has a total of 350,000 books, and it is subscribed to more than1,600 printed and online journals for a useful purpose.  
 
 
6.   Indian institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee)
IIT Roorkee is the oldest technical institution in Asia. IIT Roorkee is a public technical and research institute which is located in Roorkee, Uttarakhand. The college was established in 1847. The college was named Thomason College of Civil Engineering in the duration of (1847-1949). In 1949 it was given University status and was converted into the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in 2001. IIT Roorkee has 22 academic departments including B.Tech courses. Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee is placed on 6th rank with a total score of 78.08. IIT Roorkee has a very good culture with many Alumni. Ten Alumni had won the Padma award. And 25 Alumni have won the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology. The institute has produced seven chairman of the Indian National Board and more than 100+ secretary level officers in the Government of India.
 
 
7.     Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati)
IIT Guwahati is the sixth Indian Institute of Technology established in India. The college was established in 1994. The total area of the IIT Guwahati campus is 2.8 square kilometers. The institute was established in 1994 but the first batch of B.Tech was commenced in 1995. Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati is placed on 7th rank with a total score of 73.84. In 998 the Masters’s program was started in this institute. In the institute, there is a total of 406 faculty members and 510 support staff. To get into IIT Guwahati for an undergraduate course is done through JEE Advanced exam and for the Designing course, the entrance exam is UCEED. Admission into a postgraduate course is done through a GATE score. For the Ph.D. course, the entrance exam is Ph.D .Net.
