You should be talented and creative enough to get a Disc Jockey job. At this time, there are no degree programs in DJing. Although DJ schools and classes do exist, a large portion of DJs are self-taught. Any graduates with or without experience can work as Disc Jockey (DJ). To lay a solid foundation for success as a DJ, practice is integral. Get familiar with multiple types of technology and mixing software, so that if there is ever a technological malfunction at the club, you can still play.

DJ'ing is a well paying profession and one can earn a handsome amount in one night. Initially, one might have to play for small amounts or even free of cost to practice and get to know people in the industry. After that depending upon the size, venue and nature of the party, a DJ can earn anything between Rs. 8000/- to 10000/- per night. The perk may vary on the basis of the popularity and reputation of a particular DJ. There are no specific courses or degrees available in India to undertake a professional training in the DJ profession. You can however work as an apprentice, with a professional DJ by assisting him in all his tasks to gain the much needed experience.
