Yes Geography is a good choice for UPSC because it will helps u in prelims and in mains also. As an administrator also geography is an important subject because it covers 3-4 dimensions viz Physical, Human as well as Economic aspect. It will cover contemporary issues also. Other options for upsc: public administration, political science and sociology. All are useful subjects as a career or for upsc.
